Wine

Embedded in the lovely hilly landscape of southern Styria are the three vineyard regions of Vulkanland, Southern Styria and Western Styria. Styrian wine country begins where the beautiful scenery of the vineyards, the likeable wine-growers and the fine wine can be found together.

The grape varieties of Sauvignon Blanc, Welschriesling, Morillon, Traminer, Schilcher, Zweigelt, Weißburgunder, Yellow Muscat, Grauburgunder, Riesling and Müller Thurgau ripen along the eight Styrian wine roads. The Styrian wine-growers accompany the grapes from the cultivation to the harvest to the finished wine and invite you to comment on tastings and cellar tours in their wine shops. The excellent wine taverns impress with regional delicacies to match a glass or wine or two.

In addition to vineyards, the wine country of Styria, which fits wonderfully into the landscape with its architecture and offers plenty of accommodation options in modern and classic-rustic wine-grower rooms, also offers countless cycling tours around the hilly wine trails of The Styrian Wine Country Cycling Tour. Special hikes can be experienced accompanied by a wine-grower who will provide information about the wine. There are also plenty of wine events in wine country, because Styrians know how to celebrate.
