Nature Parks in Styria

Seven nature parks call Styria home: Almenland, Mürzer Oberland, Pöllauer Valley, Steirische Eisenwurzen, Sölktäler, Southern Styria and Zirbitzkogel-Grebenzen. They represent characteristic and ecologically valuable cultural landscapes between the Eisenwurzen and the Sölktäler in the north and southern Styria in the south.

The landscape realm of the nature parks in Styria ranges from vineyards and alpine pastures to forested areas with ponds and rivers or rolling hills with mixed orchards. These regions have committed themselves to the conscious coexistence of man and nature. "Protect through use" is their motto, because nature parks provide healthy habitats for plants, animals and people. It is not the "exclusion" of man, but rather the best-possible integration of man in the natural cycle that is the goal of nature parks in Styria.

An extensive offering of high-quality nature park specialities, which have long since found their way into top gastronomy, or more than 70 certified nature park partners that slide into the host role, make the offering of the nature parks into an experience.
