Pracht der Tract usually forms the splendid kick-off event, which is a fashion show centred around the topic of Dirndls, etc.
The "Aufsteirern" also has its fill of customs: a wealth of festivals in the city and country celebrate Styrian customs throughout the seasons. From alpine festivals and the Almabtrieb to wine festivals or Christmas events.
Not to be missed are contemporary cultural events, such as the design festivals, theatre festivals, literature festivals or musical festivals, which provide new impetus.
Especially in the area of music, Styria shows its versatile side: the Festival St. Gallen in the Gesäuse, for example, excites with a combination of music genres. The "steirischer Herbst" festival is typically Styrian and contemporary: with around 24 festival days, a nomadic migrating festival centre as a place for participants and the public to meet and numerous premieres and debuts, the Styrian autumn festival attracts people in Graz and Styria from the end of September to mid-October.
