In Austria's most stalactite-rich show cave in galleries of up to 10,000 m², experience a true primeval forest of stalactites, a stony world of fairy tales of sparkling lime corals and crystal formations and be enchanted by an underground cave lake landscape at a depth of 135 m.
Immediately after crossing an imposing portal to the cave, one of the world's most mighty stalactites welcomes visitors to the cave. A room height of 80 metres results from the floor of the "Martel cathedral" to the ceiling of the "entry hall".
In the "Hall of Imagination" which is more than 10,000 m² in size and 20 m tall there is a real primeval forest of thousands of stalactite structures with particularly expressive figures. You can find fine limestone corals, razor-thin white and coloured curtains, delicate sinter candles and sparkling crystal columns. Numerous findings of bones from cave bears complete the picture of prehistoric times untouched by man.
From here you reach other great discoveries of the famous research couple Hermann and Regina Hofer. There are the "Magic Kingdom" and the "Sea Paradise", whose bizarre variety of forms can hardly be put into words. At the lowest point, a cave lake landscape of alabaster-white stalagmites and sinter islands rise up from the turquoise-green iridescent water surface, surrounded by magnificent shore walls. As if created from an oversized script, the beauty of Austria's most stalactite-rich show cave is completed here.
